A family-run sports horse stud built on experience, care and Yorkshire roots.

West End Farm is run by Jo Milnes and her daughter, Charlotte, a mother and daughter team with over 30 years of hands-on breeding experience. Based on our family farm in East Yorkshire, we specialise in breeding quality Connemara crosses for the amateur competition market - horses known for their temperament, trainability and all-round ability.

Barrowby Thunder Rebel - Connemara stallion

What began as a small personal breeding programme has grown into a respected stud welcoming visiting mares from across the UK. Charlotte joined the stud as she was old enough to hold a horse, and today she works alongside Jo as a fully qualified and AI technician and youngstock specialist.

Together, we combine traditional horsemanship with modern breeding practises to give every mare and foal the best possible care.

What We Breed

Connemara Crosses - Bred for temperament, soundness and versatility, ideal for eventing, dressage, Pony Club, Riding Club and all-round competition.

Life on the farm

West End Farm Stud sits within our family farm in East Yorkshire, surrounded by quiet grazing and traditional farm buildings where the mares settled quickly.

Our environment is intentionally peaceful, giving mares and foals space to settle, bond and thrive.

We believe that good breeding starts with good management - calm routines, experienced handling and a genuine love for the horses in our care.
